So I thought I'd submit a piece I wrote not too long ago just to let those that care here on DA know I still live. However, when I try to label my work as Literature/Prose/Fiction/Horror/Short Story (and just about any other variation) I get the message "that category doesn't allow this type of deviation".
Why not?
Has DA--with its hip new symbol--become snobbish and only allow premium members to submit art now? or is it simply because I'm not a paying member i can only submit a certain number of art?
Your thoughts or advice please!

I'm kinda in a rut and wanted to ask you to give me something to write. It can be almost anything; an idea, a thought, something to spark some creativity.
I'd like to hear what you have to say.

Just a quick question? does anyone actually read anything here on DA? just a question. I know i'm guilty of passing over 'literature' (i.e. poems, prose, etc.) posts and skipping over 90% of all journals, but am i alone?
I only ask because my DA account--though started as a way to appreciate art--has become a way to get people to read my work and hopefully get some feedback.
I know i'm no reiq or udon crew, nor have i written anything truly worthy of a DA front page, but do we posters of prose and poetry waste our time here on DA where the front page is littered with smut and MLP (kinda miss the days when instead of MLP it was Kim Possible...).

I love to write. I write fantasy and sometimes a little science fiction. It is a rare thing to find me without a thought of fantasy--or any story--in my mind. Sometimes these thoughts become stories that I pray and work hard (faith without works...) to someday be published. I don't know the exact steps to get published by I still write. Currently I have several books written and am (slowly...) inputing them into the computer (I write REALLY, really small and even if you do happen to have a microscope, it's little more than chicken scratch to anyone else, me included).
For anyone still reading this journal entry, I hope I sparked some interest in you. Should you wonder what it is exactly I write, well without sounding like a redundant fool: fantasy. You know: dragons, magic, elves, Gods and Demons that walk the earth. My world, my earth, is called "Bestania"--hence my screen-name. No it really doesn't mean anything (to my knowledge) and it isn't the "Best" part that helped me come up with the name. I originally created the word from the word "beast". I wanted to create a world of beasts, a world of fantasy (okay so I just might be a little redundant...), of magic.
If I still haven't lost you; either you are family or a lover of fantasy. Not really particular about either really, but it is nice to know someone is reading this that hasn't known me from birth... What I write about is the characters of my world and their troubles in a world on the brink of an apocalypse (both the cataclysmic kind and the revelatory kind). A war has been foretold for centuries; a war that will reshape the face of the world. In my first book I tell the tale of a woman on the trail with a half-dragon being with the ability to see all the good and evil in a person's soul. A tragic tale (still the same book, hopefully) of a knight turned blackguard and his inner war with his own demons and a devil-king. The story of that very same devil-king's half-elf son. All are precursors to the War of the Avatars and its three destructive fronts seen thought the eyes of a barbaric sorceress, a family of knights, and the crowned king of dragons.
